Grants
Grants can help reduce your tuition payments.
One of the most sought-after types of financial aid is the state or federal grant, because it’s free money that does not have to be repaid. If you’re eligible for a grant – and many students At the Sullivan College of Technology & Design are – a member of our financial planning office will help you identify and apply for it.
Types of grants include:
- Federal Pell Grants - The amount is based on student need as determined by the Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the cost of the school program, full- or part-time enrollment status and other factors.
- Federal Academic Competitive Grant – The grant is available to help pay for full-time, Pell-qualified students’ first and second years of education, with a 3.0 GPA necessary to receive the second-year award.
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant – This campus-based grant is available to students with exceptional financial need, and the amount given is based on need and availability of funds.
- College Access Program Grants – These grants are available to qualified Kentucky students with proven need and who are Pell-Grant qualified.
