Dear Student,
Sullivan College of Technology and Design (SCTD) is giving you the chance to earn up to $3,000 in Scholarships at our 2010 Annual Scholarship Fair on Saturday, February 6. More than $60,000 in scholarships, trophies and certificates will be up for grabs. There will also be great door prizes given away to contestants.
The fair begins at 10am and concludes at approximately 1pm at the SCTD Campus. You will want to arrive by 9:30am to register and prepare for your events. Refreshments will be available.
There are 11 different competitions taking place during the Scholarship Fair with different divisions within some of the competitions. Each division will award a $3,000 scholarship for first place, $2,000 second place, and $1,000 for third place. The categories are:
- Electronics Students should bring a digital meter
- Architectural CADD
- Architectural Board Drafting Students bring basic drafting tools
- Mechanical CADD
- Mechanical Board Drafting Students bring basic drafting tools
- Interior Design No prior experience required
- Free-Hand Artwork Students bring two completed pieces of original art
- Computer Artwork Students bring two completed pieces of original art
- Web Design / Mixed Media Students bring CD, DVD or flash drive with their web pages/multimedia presentation
- Computer Network Administration / Security & Forensics
- HVAC-R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning-Refrigeration)
With the exception of the two divisions in the Art Fair, you will complete a project at the competition and projects will be judged before the end of the fair. Students competing in the Art Fair will need to bring two pieces of original art to be judged. All Scholarship Fair awards will be given the day of the competition. Students entering a CADD/Drafting contest must select only one of the four contests. Art students may enter the Free Hand and Computer Art contests, as well as the Web Design and/or the Interior Design Competition.
